Second String Band
Our incredibly out-of-date MySpace page; more tunes here. Maybe one of these days we’ll update it. Maybe one of these days
we’ll step into the 21st century and do something on FaceBook.
Auble Systems
The BEST custom amps from our own Marc Auble.
Cat’s Away Studio
Miner’s home studio, where we recorded our first album “Backroads” in early 2009.
Great Big Gone’s “Threadbare Heart” was also recorded here as was Sport’s Alternative’s recent
EP “On Any Given Sunday.” We’re expecting to go back into the studio next fall to record our second album.
Sprawling Productions
Check out Miner’s violin work with progressive rock bands “St. Elmo’s Fire”
and “Kill Tim’s Grass”.
Sports Alternative
Marc & Bert’s electric power trio, with Sue Pippin pounding the skins. Tuneful and rocking, they play great Marc Auble
originals and unique cover tune arrangements. Miner often joins them on electric violin.
Great Big Gone
Serving up a twangy blend of electrified porch picking, finger licking, roots rocking,
western swinging, honky tonking Americana all garnished with a pinch of cajun. Miner played on their “Threadbare Heart”
album and performed with them for several years.
Turntable Graveyard
Tuneful and satisfying original rock with sharp lyrics, that blends classic 70s sensibilities with the best the recent decades have
to offer. Top-notch playing, and fronted by Miner’s old friend and former bandmate Greg Bower from Great Big Gone.
Terrapin Junction
One of the best Grateful Dead tribute bands in the area, they’re back and better than ever after a much-too-long hiatus.
Great musicianship, harmonies and vibes, and guaranteed to get you up and “Dancin’ in the Streets”. Our old friend
and former bandmate Matt holds down the lead guitar chair and is a force to be reckoned with, as is everyone else in the band.
iBluegrass.com
Redefining Internet Bluegrass since 1996.

World-class baristas and an amazing natural setting on Bolin Creek in Chapel Hill;
we love playing there and drinking their fabulous coffees.
Open Eye Cafe
Another great place for coffee and music, when you happen to be in Carrboro.
The Original Q Shack
Our favorite Q
; catch us here the second Sunday evening every month.
The Players' Retreat
Great food and drink and a Raleigh tradition since 1951; most evenings you’ll find Bert behind the bar at the PR,
serving up all your favorites.
CupAJoe
Consistently great coffee; they do their own roasting.
Crema Coffee
Award-winning brews and a local favorite; really nice folks and they do their own roasting.
